Smart Meter Data Access Code (SMDAC)
In February 2025, the Commission for the Regulation of Utilities published the Smart Meter Data Access Code (the Code).
The Code provides a framework by which eligible parties, with a lawful basis, can access smart meter data.
ESB Networks is in the process of implementing the various systems and processes established by the Code and will make more information available over the coming months.
The Code requires ESB networks to publish non-personal smart meter data reports. ESB Networks began publishing non-personal smart meter data reports following the enactment of SI589/2025 in December 2025.
