Contractor Safety
Contractors are responsible for managing the risks associated with carrying out work near overhead electricity wires and underground cables. These responsibilities are described in detail in the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2006.
The Construction Regulations also require that a Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card is held by any person involved in locating underground services.
See the Health and Safety Authority website for more detailed information.

Safety Tip:
Watch out for overhead electricity wires and underground cables.
