A safety message about standby generators which can pose serious risks if not used properly

Please keep generators outdoors and follow manufacturer’s guidelines. Never use generators indoors or in enclosed spaces.

Remember a standby generator should never be connected directly into the electrical circuits or directly into your metering point. By doing so, you could endanger yourself, your neighbours and ESB Networks’ staff. Generators should always be installed by a registered electrical contractor.
