Electricity Distribution Network Capacity Pathways Consultation Report Accessible Version 11APR

Dear Stakeholder,

Please know that ESB Networks have just published for consultation the ‘Electricity Distribution Network Capacity Pathways, Consultation Report’ .  Distribution network capacity plays a critical role in enabling and empowering all our customers to decarbonise their energy consumption, as we deliver the electricity network for Ireland’s clean electric future.

As part of our ongoing collaboration and communication with our stakeholders, we wish to hear your views on this Consultation Report by Friday, February 9th, 2024. This is important, as we will use your feedback to guide the pathways we explore, to add distribution network capacity to the electricity system. Please also know that we continue to engage with EirGrid as they review feedback on their current consultation ‘Tomorrow’s Energy Scenarios’. This ongoing close coordination of the Distribution System Operation (DSO) and Transmission System Operator (TSO) activities remains vital to securing a net zero ready electricity network.

What next?

Please send your comments and feedback directly to ESBNetworksStrategy@esb.ie before close of business on Friday, February 9th, 2024.

To support this important consultation, ESB Networks will run a strategic engagement webinar on Monday January 22nd, 2024 (TBC) to ensure stakeholders understand the consultation process involved, as well as ask any questions they have, regarding their response to the ten questions proposed in the Consultation Report.

We look forward to hearing from you and thank you for your ongoing support and feedback.
